Frankfurt 2: Hey Jude, Judas

The photo below was taken in Hauptwache, Frankfurt, click here if you’d like to see a few more from my trip. Or scroll down and read on

20170331_180147

I know nothing of falling in love.

That tripping up, or a bit of a jigsaw.

Maniacally exclaiming life reshaping.

I stumbled over desperation until my chest demanded rest for its people.

Now salty for a taste of freedom

I grieve with ten thousand reasons for why we’re here.

What’s real talk to convenience?

Stores of obedience host underground shows.

Soon there’ll be no difference between breathing and blows.

Avalanches will flow.

Demons with god intentions only ever change lanes

Truth is loyal and destructive, it devastates and remains.

Where the sun sets the moon gains.

We all want the light without pain

We all want to know the 4-2-5 yet Judas gets in the way.

What are you a discipline of?

What’s your price today?

The End

I’m in love with….I could never finish the sentence
My regrets roused rancorous desires for regression
I was colour blind as the red flags flapped,
I felt so fly, the fact that I didn’t, feels impressive.
My ego was bedded by this boo as the crowd roared us on.
Economical with the truth about either of us being The One
We phoned in that blue light to the brain as though we were seeing
the sun.
The great depression was 3 rings away from speaking up.
Green was never my shade, yet blue was our colour.
We called a spade a spade while digging crates and graves for each other
To tolerate through desperation seemed a better vow than to love each other.
Desecrating the legacies of Father, Father and Mother.
Who we fancied remained a secret that not even mirrors could fathom.
If we get on, let’s see where it goes was the best chestnut, adage
We thought we had our onions in order so we ignored the sage.
This was a fools buffet, eat now and pay later
Needed more time to date but….
We were less diligent than a fan of James Yancey
Pilot of Aaliyah’s plane on an incredible flight of fancy
If you do best at a certain altitude, why lower the standards?
If our mutual anchor had matched us, the candle position was shifting.
If walking through hell was our job, we seemed fire resistant.
We did what was expected and found some return on the investment.
Blurring the burning yearning for affection with friendship.
The words house and mate were, for the most part, unconnected.
The moment we took the breath away, I became we, with love in a sentence.
Now if this is a confession to someone who cannot give penance.
What are we to do with the fragments of our reflections?
We end.

Lip Service

You keep kissing me in front of all these people
Expecting me to fall in love with you.
We seem to meet before the party, then it’s hard to get in touch with you.
I died for more than double you.
Hold this L
If it’s not too much trouble how about a… hello?
Public displays of affection, rarely a conversation.
You pull up a pew and rearrange the table.
Snack with me and regurgitate it.
Why? Why take the plate if you’re not hungry?
Why tell me you love me in public?
You barely shake my hand or hug me.
You immerse in my water and refuse to plug me.
If our lips must combine like oxygen and hydrogen, why aren’t we more than friends?
Am I the luxury meat at your barbecue?
The pumice stone to your ego?
If I’m the cross road you take in a blue moon in spite of your better route
If to yourself you’re being true, this arrangement is shaky.
Sometimes I hate it.
Our snap chat, I’ll take it over an Amen on Facebook.
I might be on your speed dial for the sake of it,
It is your heart I’m truly taken with.
You are worth the chase and…although you say….
I do… without the declaration.
Some folk forsake marriage for a lifetime of dating.
The choice is yours, is this a love worth embracing?

Sailing

FreeGreatPicture.com-1203-sailing-high-definition-material

The ship has sailed, but the sea lingers

Her fingers still fondle my timbers

The spine kindles like tinder.

Blocks shading the so-called rub of the green, my heart beats turn to cinders

When I look into the future and remember I kiss my present with the question.

Why does the sea linger?

5 day Poetry Challenge Day 4 – Making It

This particular poem was written circa October 2004. Having discovered and fully embraced spoken word in 2003, it is one of my earliest spoken word pieces.

Realistic is talent to deal with harshness

Faith when you’re stuck in a camp like Auschwitz

You’re proud when it’s over but then you get a blessing

For you held on to grainy faith

Though you were at your wits end.

You may want to help the world…may never happen

Only way to live your life is like a lantern

Lighting others pathway

Just keep your head high don’t ever be trampled

And be a classic song…not a beat sample

19 Stone Smile (52/9)

19 stone smile was bad, like Mike in 87
Until I met the real miss jackson with her hips and twisted melon
Quiet dog and a fruit cake for whom love was a never.
18 years were two words and (an) escaped life sentence
The mirror separated the pedant from the peasant.
In the future an atheist would bring a Christian to repentance
Dating was a time of the month, lust seemed so feral
It was perpetual rebounding until I found my level
If you’re travelling without moving, how do you know haven’t settled?
The love of love was a drug and for pot I never kettled
Not a man united but experience made for a read devil
Making music without producing, I lied to heavy meddle
Hope my nemesis forgives me for being the herb to her petal
Not everyone’s cup of tea but she knew I deserved better.
Would have loved sons but clouds didn’t produce our weather
My love story’s a challenge
With every page I’m counting blessings
I thought my 19 stone smile was bad like Mike in 87
I was a child then and a child then
After 36 months of emptying my vessel to find my forever
I grew up and realised she was simply the start of the lesson

With the examination my ties were shredded
In 6 years of wrestling I’ve done turn buckle swallow dives
My heart learnt to swallow knives
To see if they would cut it I found myself to lose my mind
Sometimes you need a bare soul to grow into your shoe size
Now my 19 stone smile is someone’s 10 or 25
As my smile
Is now mine
For life

Molehills and Mountains

truthSome truths are holier than an indian rape festival

Some truths are arresting but their freedom you can rest in

Some truths are homely when they don’t try to redecorate

Some truths are seedlings that sap you of your better state

I wish these truths were feather weight and would lift before I sign that paper

Wait

I want…

Truths that wrap round my hands like tape before a fight

Truths that change bulbs,

Truths that win matches

Truths that broken into meteoric starlight are my cookie that crumbles

Truths that are more beautiful than a Titanic Kate Winslet

Truths that are more than an engagement ring and make you alter

Truths that don’t slide around

Truths you can fall for, get up with and fall in love with again and again

Truths that make good friends

Truths that don’t break you to see if you can bend

Truths that don’t hide in drawers like old photos

Truths that in need, you can go to

Truths that get more agreement than Kyoto

Truths that make the magna carta look like a pinky promise

Truths with more meat than a 20 stone double J in a bodice

Truths with more between the eyes than a pair of nostrils

Truths in lossless formats that will never get played

Truths that are more than a night boo debut.

Truths that might silence you but wont shoot you down with a silencer

See these Home truths I keep dying for

Truth lives outside the law

Truth is the secret in the bible section

Truth is the power of inception that rewires a lie detector

Truth is my reflection when I choose to accept it and until then

Truth is an orphan

Truth can dance with you or around you.

Truth is not a tradition

If truth was religious it would be narcissus

I want truth that keeps you in check like King Midas face to face with Medusa

Truth whose screams in eternity ring and are happily answered too

Maybe that kind of truth isn’t you

See maybe truth is convenient, may be it’s seasonal

Maybe it’s roots ,branches and leaves that are watered by wars

Maybe we need lies to appease us until we find the peace that is us

A peace that pleases us in all pores and makes us richer

Maybe truth is greedy, maybe truth is grievous

Maybe to be truth is to find that we need to be us,

To be us, we need to see us

So maybe what we need is, not peace but reflection

A reflection that yields acceptance for its perfect imperfections

A voice that sets the tone with multiple inflections.

If truth is knowledge accepted and we render rejection can truth be changed at all?

If truth is changeable is this the deposition before urination?

Revolving doors wont get to seven when you’re in eight

So maybe this is the position before you’re in a shine

Giving evidence, overthrowing negatives

The truth is the truth is the picture, it’s us that aren’t getting it

The truth is that truth is an industry worth investing in.

I heard that truth is sexier than Norah Jones in silky pyjamas on a Q-Tip record

But….

Ttruth has a cost and as words are expensive….

What are yours worth?
