A. D. L. D

We arrive as a flash point, late on my time line.

I’m tongue-tied by your outline.

Like tour bus based buffets

The taste of your lane is scenic

Could Morpheus love the Phoenix

Are angels ever fiendish?

Do butterflies ever get butterflies?
Seven syllables make you and I

Our cloudy memory lanes are filled with melodies of the 6

We are Barry and Iris on a Badu tip

Is it common sense that I want you?

Shhhh
You are the voice of napalm singing Psalms

Every note that leaves you is a lip bomb

Would I adore you be a call to arms?
You know this is  more than a shuffle of the cards.

Pepper and Tony Stark

You’re queen of the odd shaped drum that gives my life a base

I go Gaga for your poker face

Is this bad romance?
I know that

The 18 steps of our slow dance lack symmetry

Settling for smaller planets is withering
You fall for what’s within

So straight up,

Your open skies are the needle for my turn table

Every record you spin opens a book of revelation
Though multiplexes mapped contact, this is free smoke.

A road to the after glow found in the clouds

Running touch lines since our first down

Will two lasting embraces strike this match?

Call this time’s greatest catch.

Are we?

A delayed story?

Finding Fruit

I stopped by your poems

Hugged them line by line

Our heartbeats fell as silken petals

This long lost love made Courtney Pine

Silence eavesdropped on mystic kisses

Eager vibrations rekindled the affair

Your swirling prose meditative.

My unchained cadences cohesive

Perceptive curtains arrange our winds though

Love isn’t lost if the heart’s still beating

Is this mine or our evocative secret?

A final kiss on our achievements?

The silence still eavesdrops

The longing lusts evermore.

10/ 30 Many roofs

Reluctant comfort
Hillsong is not my heart song
Unhappy feet dance
Dessert or new soil
Thirst overwhelms me
The word is my well
Hats and tambourines
Torrential tongues firefight.
No doubt, home is home

A Valentines Proposal

In my more prolific moments, this would be the time of year I go into hiding.  This year I decided to bite the bullet and wrote this for  a themed fun day at work.
Although violets are blues, I’m not man city or Chelsea
Let’s be woman and man united, a book mutually exclusively read
See red wine will not be stronger than our library of love literature
If your smile is your signature, your character is your star sign.
You had with punchlines that’ll make for a ring unboxing
Your stolen heart, the lasting memory of the crime I’m plotting.
You’ve got me popping like candy, let’s taste the sky together
Set the bar so high disbelief wears suspenders.
When your heart’s beat I’ll be your sole defender
Extended play is the music that’ll make our love crescendo
You’re the curves in my jigsaw, the missing peace in my picture
If heaven is a perfect moment I want to spend life and after it with you.

I’m Waiting

Some days …
I get sick of waiting
Staring at my calendar
Though I’ve given up dating
Like 30 days hath September
Waiting for the one
Is there really no end to?

Praying and leaving it
Believing that
God works in mysterious ways
This mere heathen asks
Can’t one of them be simple
Holding tight my little faith
Feels like I’m ever squeezing a pimple
That’s never ready to burst
Waiting feels so blessed and cursed

Saving myself for the best
I’ve seen the worst
Trying to kill old bad habits
Some need to be re-hearsed
running out of tales to re-verse
Memories to be burned
Time is money
I’m scraping a deep purse
Saving is burning a hole in my wallet
This is arson I’ve got it
I’m just an insurance scam
The nice guy burnt down
For women to claiim their right man
I am
Left selfishly freely
I feel greedy
For the fact I’m not needy
I got me so I don’t need me

Planting new connections
Call me seedy
I write so you can read me
The riot act to be me
The water of reflection
I splash so you can sea me

On the sidelines
For my who will be my by line
The lashes for my I line
To blink could be a sky fire
We’ll collide but why’do I I
Touch up on the nest egg
To forget that you even exist
cos maybe
When I commit to
Waiting
We’ll live

Unwanted

Sometimes….I feel

Like a rudderless child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudder less child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a fatherless child
A lone stranger
An embryo

Liquid flames cased in power puff names
Pains engaged to a hair trigger guage
Distorted inceptions and schools of disdain
Encumber my soul with melodic chill blains
I’m lost in ill gains, strapped to real frames
My electric lion flow has been tamed
Trying not to settle, my earth has been maimed
Dying to be a tribute act though I lit my own fame
Scarred with in sense, I stink out the game
My knowledge they deem is too out there for in-game
My mettle’s twisted so I touch my in sane
My pane is transparent and I’m the heir apparent
I’m all gassed up as his history I parrot
I’d snap the neck of every clock for every time I wanna garrot
A strap line that entwines my heart to this brand cos

Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudderless child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudder less child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a fatherless child
A lone stranger
An embryo

A rodent on the wheel of fortune, running
Sporting a back pack of rations gunning
chasing the mirror till it falls off bloodied
To applause and jeers of is that all he studied
chased the pack catching all the nuts n ruts
he swivelled the inflection yet the echo stayed put
he, broke his back to heal men when hell was afoot
yet sparing no change he felt only rifle butts
Bayonets to the gut, enoch’s rivers were his blood
speech, so flowing were his veins
You were nothing but hanging mucus when needed
nothing but a bane so

Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudderless child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudder less child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a fatherless child
A lone stranger
An embryo

Ineffectual vibrations preach wisdom to holed walls
Disrespect migrates, generational roll calls
Keep picking up the phone hoping my garden grows balls
Bog hands noting the viscosity of snow fall
Naked can I handle when the stalactites fall
I’ve got a mouth of stalagmites but no choir on which to call
They’ve got no room for my range I’m just a car left to stall
My bairns bereft of heart set to crawl
Supposed grab life that ain’t even a trip for me to fall
So I scribe symbols in the dirt, scriptures for you all
cos

Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudderless child
Sometimes….I feel
Like a rudder less child

Sometimes….I feel
Like a fatherless child
A lone stranger

A vogue stranger
A known angel
Unwanted

Love Letters from the Hood vol 4.

I school you like black folk being shown the boondocks
Every time I tick your boom box
My second hand ruins clocks
With cold play the room the rocks
My motion is curt so I sniff Cobaine
Get you high and ready for my purple reign
In principle I’m weather vain
So blow me like the winds of indoctrination
See I lay you then lay claim to you
You are my patent
You’re micro soft to my bad apple
Peach queen,
Your juices energise my saddle
Reducing Ginuwine’s first line to babble
Said I’m not bachelor and
Your bad ass is making this soft boy harder
The way you rub so incisively
Decisively,
You thrilling me killin’ me
Said I’m so anxious
I’m trippin’
I’m stumbling
My lips are fumbling like a nervous young bomber
Mama, Mama, Mama
Martyr this moment
This is just a second row hit,
Don’t come till we hit the back of the line
You’re a serial killer with your tongue tied
Around my hung rhyme
My epic piece
Not written with a biro in hieroglyphics
I got a fountain pen
Recognise the thesis,
Acknowledge me like Romulus and Remus
And
When
You…
Respect the architect, like Guru and his nuances
I’ll show you,
You already knew what the blue print is
Yeah I got reasonable doubt like Hova did
I ain’t mad atcha cos I’m fallin just the same
Caressing those white cliffs of dover
I don’t want this to be a once hung
Over
Like Suge Knight trying to sign Vanilla ice
I need more than 20 stories
36 chambers
Most definitely
I want us to be the new danger
See a quiet dog may bite hard
But a real man guards the keys to a heart
Will you fight for this love
Or just watch the throne
I don’t want to be alone
Princess…
