A. D. L. D

We arrive as a flash point, late on my time line.

I’m tongue-tied by your outline.

Like tour bus based buffets

The taste of your lane is scenic

Could Morpheus love the Phoenix

Are angels ever fiendish?

Do butterflies ever get butterflies?
Seven syllables make you and I

Our cloudy memory lanes are filled with melodies of the 6

We are Barry and Iris on a Badu tip

Is it common sense that I want you?

Shhhh
You are the voice of napalm singing Psalms

Every note that leaves you is a lip bomb

Would I adore you be a call to arms?
You know this is  more than a shuffle of the cards.

Pepper and Tony Stark

You’re queen of the odd shaped drum that gives my life a base

I go Gaga for your poker face

Is this bad romance?
I know that

The 18 steps of our slow dance lack symmetry

Settling for smaller planets is withering
You fall for what’s within

So straight up,

Your open skies are the needle for my turn table

Every record you spin opens a book of revelation
Though multiplexes mapped contact, this is free smoke.

A road to the after glow found in the clouds

Running touch lines since our first down

Will two lasting embraces strike this match?

Call this time’s greatest catch.

Are we?

A delayed story?

The End

I’m in love with….I could never finish the sentence
My regrets roused rancorous desires for regression
I was colour blind as the red flags flapped,
I felt so fly, the fact that I didn’t, feels impressive.
My ego was bedded by this boo as the crowd roared us on.
Economical with the truth about either of us being The One
We phoned in that blue light to the brain as though we were seeing
the sun.
The great depression was 3 rings away from speaking up.
Green was never my shade, yet blue was our colour.
We called a spade a spade while digging crates and graves for each other
To tolerate through desperation seemed a better vow than to love each other.
Desecrating the legacies of Father, Father and Mother.
Who we fancied remained a secret that not even mirrors could fathom.
If we get on, let’s see where it goes was the best chestnut, adage
We thought we had our onions in order so we ignored the sage.
This was a fools buffet, eat now and pay later
Needed more time to date but….
We were less diligent than a fan of James Yancey
Pilot of Aaliyah’s plane on an incredible flight of fancy
If you do best at a certain altitude, why lower the standards?
If our mutual anchor had matched us, the candle position was shifting.
If walking through hell was our job, we seemed fire resistant.
We did what was expected and found some return on the investment.
Blurring the burning yearning for affection with friendship.
The words house and mate were, for the most part, unconnected.
The moment we took the breath away, I became we, with love in a sentence.
Now if this is a confession to someone who cannot give penance.
What are we to do with the fragments of our reflections?
We end.

Sailing

FreeGreatPicture.com-1203-sailing-high-definition-material

The ship has sailed, but the sea lingers

Her fingers still fondle my timbers

The spine kindles like tinder.

Blocks shading the so-called rub of the green, my heart beats turn to cinders

When I look into the future and remember I kiss my present with the question.

Why does the sea linger?

5 day poetry challenge Day 3 – The Dawn

White sands fell between them

The morning tide kissed their foreheads

New palms bowed and curtsey in turn

Clouds yawned for the first time as the sky opened its eyes

The wind smiled like a new-born after its first feed

Time had walked the shortest distance from their wrist to their hands

Steady as the drizzle of summer rain, they breathed

Whispers tiptoed from their lips into the oxygen

Like hydrogen they ignited as understanding embraced

Good Morning,

Good morning to love said the flame

Finding their soul frequency retinas roared

Detonated heart beats battling soon soothed to an echo

Atlas had become compass in a blink

Yet this was Eden and it would be human to think

So they admired

The apple of their eye was a fruit of their spirit

They’d given lives to acquire the rights to the orchard

Merely breathing was deemed eating of the moment and

Building a city of roses required appetite so apple blossom became staple diet

Welcome,

Welcome to life said the Middle Tree

Inhaling our reign beau

Breath of Life

Your love is wholesome and elevating like a flower raising in the heat of the sun.
You gave your only one
We desire your will so that we can become
Our eyes fixed on your throne hearts broken for you who lifts our head
We find favour when we are lead by your hand
We were once tossed and driven by every wind, every plan
You are sailor taking our wheel in hand
Your spirit whispers into our sails that we are priceless
You didn’t need to be sold to
Righteous, you embrace and give life to the broken
With every word spoken you embolden our bones
Clothing us with a radiance that out glows gemstones
Strengthens better than any precious metal
Your blessing is never stressful, When we can pray, what do we fret for?
We never expect more but still you give
I am because you live
I breathe because you gave
I am unworthy but you never deserted me
So I return to you daily with praises
You don’t care about staging
Our relationship is for all life stages
Our prayers are more than sky writing
I love you Lord for loving the low life
You give us highlights with guidance
So we strive to decorate our lives with perfection because your temple’s inside us.

Don’t know how

Windows smashed with bricks of cocaine

Broken glass, swept up again

I’m off the latch, my heart’s unchained

But I’ve got no change

I’ve banked on the pain

See I’m pondering despondent ponds

Wondering where I’ve gone

I don’t know who I am

They took my colour – hue of man

Perhaps I’m music – one man band

Imprisoned by woe man’s plan

But I don’t know how …to love you

Pieces of my splintered soul

Scattered round, every manhole

Craters, traps that had me snared

Stealing my fruits, left me impaired

So I sewed new seeds

Though my heart still bleeds

My reflection reads like gutter press

The mirror is my emptiness

You are the answer

My heart sings yes

The rose emerging, from my mess

But I don’t know how …to love you

I am nothing but evaporation waiting

For my chance to appear on your window

As droplets of fire like elements tamed

I am the truth that love is pain

Eviscerating the body of your past would leave you life less

There’s nothing I’d love more than to caress your battle scars and

Lick your wounds as though they were manna from heaven so

I can learn to love you as woe man to woman

But please show me how…to love you

It’s been barely plausible that I’ve been rarely audible

All depth and direction, carefree nautical

Erections from false affections seemed so cordial

But now I’m ready to give my all to you but understand

I don’t know how…so please show me now

I need to know how…to love you

Sorry

I’m sorry that I can simplify your insecurity complex

Even though your convex hips and curves give me dreamy nerves

My endings, my cables be rendering you as my Anna of the Green Gables

I’ve got a light bulb and a spanner

Clothes shopping with you would give me more smiles than a town planner given their own island, but I’m sorry

That you wobble more than your wobbly bits even though I think you’re curvy luscious, voluptuous and tight

Even though I show you Love Jones and recite A Blues for Nina like I was your Brotha to the night

I make you wish I was white and I’m sorry

Sorry that I’m just not swag enough

Ghetto black enough,

Want to hit it but not smack you tough

Gym rat, thank you and bang you gruff

Proper English, multi-level conversation but not slang enough

Just not African, just not Yardie

More Laurel & Hardy than Gyptian and Marley

Vibing like Fugee La in our Shangri la with Hugh Masakela

Seem I’m only on your radar for my niceness,

I’m not Osiris, you’re not Isis, a great catch but not a virus

I wrote my values on papyrus, so after the file is ingested

Know that I’m sorry that you’re just not interested

You took out me out with the insurance claim that you were interested,

So I means tested and found you cared to give me a little time without your mind or true get to know you time invested

Body banging like African Drums but once the lust was digested

The connection stung and felt like a rat infested hornets nest its

Like you’re being pestered with the bug of too good to be true

Like a hair dresser to uncle Fester your head you need to rake through

Notions of sweetness, meanness, the real man bleep test

Oh you’re not a risk taker…I’m sorry

You’re a lover not a faker, I’m sorry you’re just being honest, I’m sorry

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet but a bigger engine to move on from it

So I’m Sorry

I write a love letter to the beat because I really, really be

Sorry

Sorry that I’m the just next just trying to break a hex

You’re so vex like T-Rex because of your ex so to you I’m Mr Poetic X

Buck wild instead of bucking the trend

Good company and sex hoping the cycle will end

Screw it Buck it I’m sorry

Thought you were a diamond mine, you’re a neglected quarry

Sorry, sorry I’m really sorry

I can be the lorry that hits you from the blindside

Takes you off the road have you singing when we collide

Biffy Clyro

Instead you’d rather play Spyro

Showing a little flame while you play your game and shake your Ting Tings

That’s not my middle name,

21 seconds and you’re out for fame another notch called a Victory

Smoke without fire this story really isn’t Hickory Dickory

Jackanory cock story,

Pop that booty, lock me off and ride to glory while I cry poor me

See I’m richer for the experience, exposing your interest as desperate or delirious

I’m not really weary it’s just that my truth is always serious

I’m passionately clear because I romance in deed, I really want to need but because of want I bleed

So I’m sorry
